Music
Music, dance & drama, and visual art form the cultural dimension of the curriculum at Hadlow. The school delivers each of the cultural disciplines weekly as part of the school curriculum timetable. The school boasts a fully equipped music studio with practice rooms attached. Children are able to learn almost any musical instrument as part of the extra-curricular programme, delivered by a specialist team of itinerant teachers. Currently, children receive tuition in piano and key-board, drums, saxophone, violin, flute, and guitar.
The school also has a junior choir at the Y2-Y4 level, a middle school choir at Y5&6 and a senior choir at Y7&8. A waiata group based at the junior level is a recent cultural initiative at the school. The school also has an orchestra which is open to all pupils. All these cultural groups perform during the year at occasions such as special chapel services, Grandparents’ Morning, the House Cultural Competition, and the Music Extravaganza concert.
