Principal's Welcome
Our focus at Hadlow is unashamedly on the children. These learners are the reason that we are all here and our vision (the teachers, the parents, the board of trustees) for the children is that they will be literate, self-motivated, self-managing, confident, responsible, and respectful.
Education at Hadlow is based on values and a sense of responsibility towards others. The virtues of respect, truthfulness, and friendliness underpin the social framework of the school:
- respect for one another, for staff and adults, for property, for the school and what it stands for, and respect for oneself;
- truthfulness in all that one does and in all the interactions with school-mates and adults;
- friendliness that is genuine and inclusive, and does not isolate anyone in the learning community of the school.
The school motto Per Constantiam Ad Victoriam translates as Through Determination to Success and it is this motto that reflects the focus on the individual child and the school’s desire to instil the vision attributes through all the different school pursuits. All pupils are expected to strive for success and excellence not only in their learning but in their social interactions and work ethos.
Hadlow creates a supportive and challenging environment in which children begin the journey to becoming life-long learners.
I invite you to let your child join that journey.
Michael Mercer, Principal Hadlow School
